Ray O’Sullivan B. Agr. Sc MBA – Managing Director

Ray previously worked with Kerry Foods in the UK and also in petrochemical sector,
with DHM Agrochemicals, before joining GreatGas just prior to its launch in 2006. Ray
holds a bachelors degree in Agricultural Science from UCD as well as an MBA form
UCC which he completed just before joining the company.

Sharon Rankine (FCCA, BSC Mgt) – Financial Controller

Worked and qualified in UK from 1986 – 1999. On return to Ireland she worked with various local companies setting up and computerising accounting systems for them. In 2008 an opportunity arose within Market House Group to join them and do the accounts of various companies (including GreatGas) owned by Gerry Murphy. Due to the rapid growth of Great Gas she joined them full time as the Financial Controller in Jan 2009.

DJ Cunningham – Business Development Manager - South

After completing his business degree in Tralee IT in 1997, DJ spent time working in Mallow before moving to Dublin. While there he held a variety of senior positions with Worldcom, DHL and United Beverages & Gilbeys Wines. He has substantial managerial experience in the areas of Sales, Operations and Customer Service. Prior to his appointment with GreatGas, DJ was involved in setting up Kendlebell Virtual Office services in Churchtown.

John Hurley – Retail Sales & Network Planning Manager

Has worked in the oil industry for 20+ years. He is a professional Retail Network Planner and he specialises in developing network strategies and optimisation plans. He worked for Irish Shell Limited from 1982-2005 in various roles including five years as Dealer Area Manager for the North West and 5 years as Retail Network Planner for Ireland, Scotland and N. England. He worked from 2005-2007 for Topaz Energy as Network Development Manager and from 2007-2009 as Network Planning & Property Consultant to NRA / Halcrow Barry Limited working on the design optimisation and Financial Appraisals of Motorway Services in Ireland.

Richard Irvine – Business Development Manager - Ulster

Richard has worked in the oil industry since 2004. Following 4 years as Marketing Manager, Northern Ireland with ConocoPhillips he moved to DCC Energy in 2008 working as Retail and Distributor Manager for Emo Northern Ireland, developing and launching the Emo brand into the NI forecourt sector.

Prior to that his career involved management roles in production, sales, warehousing as well as transport and distribution in the print and packaging industry with MSO Cleland and in the construction materials industry with Lafarge PLC and he has gained valuable business experience throughout.

He holds the Chartered Institute of Marketing certificate and has a CPC in International Transport.

Barry Daly – Logistics & Fuel Card Manager

Barry Daly’s career has covered a range of customer facing and revenue generating roles. His early experience was in the audio visual and telecommunications sectors in sales and sales management. Barry has worked alongside some of Europe’s biggest names including Nokia, O2, Meridian Audio and Universal Electronics BV and this has given him an excellent grounding in the skills needed to deliver consistent customer service excellence. Barry then moved to a management role running the Kendlebell virtual office operation across Cork with responsibility for sales, customer service, staff performance & recruitment and all financial and operational issues.
 
Barry’s latest role is as Logistics and Fuel Card Manager for GreatGas. He is primarily responsible for the successful delivery of all fuel orders to the GreatGas forecourt network across Ireland. Barry is studying for a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree.

Paula Hanafin
– Administration Manager

Paula stems from military background where she served 24 years with the Defence Forces. Having served in Cork, Tralee and Athlone Barracks and with the United Nations in Lebanon during these 24 years Paula gained valuable experience in logistical, administration and management skills. These skills have proved invaluable throughout her army and civilian life.

Having completed a Management and Accountancy course Paula worked as a project manager in the opening of a retail outlet in Churchtown and remained as Manager with Bruhenny Holdings until her move to GreatGas in 2009.

Mary Morrissey – Accounts Manager

Mary Morrissey joined GreatGas as Accounts Manager in June 2010. She is an Associate of the Irish Taxation Institute and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University College Cork.  Mary worked for 4 years in Cork with Patrick McNamara & Associates where she trained to become an associate of the Irish Taxation Institute.  She has also worked with Grant Thornton as assistant manager on the taxation team.

Mark Jakeman – Company Secretary & Safety Officer

Mark Jakeman's career has covered senior management roles in sales, service and marketing. He spent 27 years in the telecommunications industry and has led teams in operational and project based environments. His twin passions are business excellence and customer service and he has an extensive track record of success in both areas. Mark graduated with an honours degree in politics from the City of Birmingham Polytechnic in 1977 and is currently studying for a Master’s in US Foreign Policy. He is a qualified vocational assessor in customer service, and has published a book and many articles on customer service and its role in business success. He is a former general manager with the Market House Group and has been with GreatGas since 2007.

Sean Kelly – Business Development Manager - West & Midlands

Sean has over ten year’s experience in sales. After completing a Bachelor Degree in Business Studies he began his career in the motor industry as a Sales Executive and was quickly promoted to Business Manager and Branch Manager. Before joining GreatGas Sean also gained some valuable experience in the advertising Industry. Throughout his successful career Sean has developed a wide range of skills and has always made customer service his priority.
